Fayence and Les Villages Perchés

The 'villages perchés' of Le Haut Var are all well worth a visit. Traditional festivals are celebrated all year round: La Fete de La Chataigne, La Fete de l'Ane, La Fete du Mimosa as well as the traditional Festivals for the village saints.

The village markets are a delight all year round.

In the warmer seasons, the villages host concerts, pottery markets and boule competitions.

Les Grottes de St Cezaire

Discovered in 1890, the caves at St Cézaire are well known for the diversity and richness of their limestone and extraordinary natural red coloration.

Le Lac de St Cassien

Le Lac de St Cassien is one of the best Carp fishing lakes in Europe and also a great lake for swimming, sailing and windsurfing and skulling/rowing. Pedalo boats are available for hire and in the winter the lake is used as a training lake for professional rowers.

Les Gorges du Verdon

Start in Castellane (only 45 minutes from Mons) and explore the Grand Canyon of Europe. Les Gorges du Verdon boast the deepest canyons in Europe. Explore from the river on rafts or canoes, or venture to the village of Rourgon and enjoy the best crepes in the area with the famous Griffon vultures circling overhead.
